HOW PINNIE
WORKS.

A 2-minute guide to the sideline
๐ŸŽฝ

Make Groups

Turn one number into fair, bib-colored teams โ€” the math is done for you.

1
Open Make Groups and pick what youโ€™re setting: team size, number of teams, or number of fields.
2
Type the number. Pinnie splits everyone marked Here and assigns each team a real pinnie color.
3
Need it fairer or friendlier? Add keep-together / keep-apart rules, rank ability, or limit to the bib colors you actually own โ€” then re-generate.

The 3s 4s 2 quick-split buttons on the Home screen jump straight to a common split.

Track Subs & Playtime

Run the clock and keep every kidโ€™s minutes fair without a spreadsheet.

1
In Game setup, choose your field size (how many play at once) and period length, then set your starting lineup.
2
Tap Start. The clock runs and each player on the field banks minutes.
3
To sub, tap a player coming off, then one going on โ€” Pinnie logs the swap and keeps the running totals.
4
Fairness bars surface who needs minutes; a gentle nudge reminds you to shuffle. Open the breakdown any time to see totals and goalkeeper time.

Games are saved on the device โ€” closing or reloading the app mid-match wonโ€™t lose the clock or the log.

Roster

Your list of players, and who showed up today.

  • Tap a player to flag them Here or Out โ€” only Here players go into Groups and Subs.
  • Add or remove players any time; the present count updates everywhere instantly.
  • Keep more than one team (e.g. two age groups) and switch between them from the team name at the top.

First time in, Pinnie shows a clearly-labeled sample team so you can look around. Clear it and add your own whenever youโ€™re ready.

Backup & move devices

Your data lives only on this device โ€” a backup lets you copy it, or move it to another phone.

1
On Roster, tap the team name โ–พ and choose Copy backup code or Download backup file.
2
On the other phone, open Pinnie โ†’ Restore from backupโ€ฆ and paste the code or pick the file.

Do a backup before clearing browser data or switching phones โ€” thereโ€™s no server copy to fall back on.

๐Ÿ“ฒ

Put it on your phone

Install Pinnie to launch it full-screen and use it with no signal.

i
iPhone (Safari): tap Share โ†’ Add to Home Screen. (iOS only installs from Safari.)
A
Android (Chrome): tap the Install app prompt, or โ‹ฎ menu โ†’ Install app / Add to Home screen.

Once installed, it opens straight to your tools and works offline on the touchline.

Privacy

Pinnie is local-only by design.

  • Your roster, lineups and sub logs are stored in the browser on your device.
  • Nothing is sent to or stored on any server. There are no accounts and no tracking.
  • The only way data leaves the device is a backup you export and share.
